Ask something like "check this paragraph for AI writing", and Claude hands the text over to UnTXT and reads back what came of it. What runs is the full analysis, the same one the website calls Academic Weapon, where two separate models read the text passage by passage and argue about it while a third sits ready to settle whatever the two of them cannot agree on between themselves. It spends credits from the UnTXT account you connected, and metered billing has to be switched on over there first, so a brand new connection will send you off to do that before it checks anything at all. There is a faster reading behind a flag, and it is a weaker one.
The connector spends credit from your own UnTXT account exactly as the website does. A brand new account has none of that credit sitting ready on the connector's side until you visit untxt.uk/developer and either add a card or top up. Claude will say so plainly if a check cannot run for that reason, rather than failing silently, and the fix is the same short visit either way.
